Comments: Mr Schaumkel has carried out orthopaedic surgery for me on two occasions, knee arthroscopy in November 2014 and a total right hip joint replacement on 1st October 2021.
I have always found Janus to be warm and relaxed but at the same time reassuring, professional and communicative.. The results of both procedures were excellent and in particular, recovery from my hip surgery has been rapid and straightforward. In fact comparing notes with others who have had similar surgery none have been as trouble- free. This is a testament to the surgeon’s accuracy, follow up advice and his clear communication of the requirements and limitations including strong recommendation for physiotherapy. Interestingly the operating anaesthetist referred to Janus as “meticulous in his preparation and measuring”
I have no hesitation in recommending Janus to anyone who requires orthopaedic surgery in his field (especially if one is interested in rugby).
